In a business like many other industries, there comes a point where one has to retire from active duty or from the firm that employed you. While for most retirees this presents a time when one can travel the world or enjoy their retirement funds in a serene environment away from civilization. Others like, Jana Messerschmidt, start mentorship programs that endure their skills are passed down to the next generation. Jana Messerschmidt is a graduate from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in science computer engineering. Before joining Twitter in 2010, Jana was working with Netflix as the Director of business development in charge of formulating and maintaining mobile and consumer electronics partnerships. She carried forward her role in the partnership business to Twitter where she was the vice president of the global business development platform and development. She was responsible for partnerships in the company through platform development, partner engineering, enterprise sales and developer relations among other related fields. Before Netflix, Ms. Messerschmidt was working for DivX and AT&T.
